Passs Bio of Charles Stouff

In 1971, I was born in a small town within Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (No, I am not Amish) in the good old US. Being the only child to a single mother, we moved around quite frequently. All in all I've lived in 17 separate places covering 3 different states. My mother and I finally settled back in Lancaster County where I currently reside with my wife and my 2-year-old daughter (Trinity).

I knew of my interest in cartooning at a very early age. When I was five years old, I lived in Santa Rosa, California. One morning while eating my frosted flakes, my mommy pointed out to me a contest on the cereal box to draw your favorite cereal cartoon character. Anyway, long story short, I drew the frog from Sugar Smacks. As far as memory serves me, it was the single greatest piece of artwork that was ever created. I don't even remember if I entered the contest, but I do remember one thing, ... I was a cartoonist!

Over the years, growing up, I would cut out the comics in the newspaper and draw all the characters including Ziggy, Hagar and Family Circus. I used to write my own captions and just imagine the glamorous lifestyle of the cartoonist (Yachts, supermodels, private jets, caviar).

Domestic World was created during my senior year in high school. I was really into The Far Side at the time and the influence from it can not be denied. My cartoons were very badly drawn partly because of the impatience of a 17-year-old boy, but mostly for the lack of style and design. I managed to get into the local newspaper, which had a circulation of about 60,000. Through the years I've spent hundreds of hours reading every book on cartooning and art design that I could obtain. Domestic World has been featured in several magazines and small newspapers across America.

Having over 600 original designs, Domestic World basically developed into a single panel cartoon about the animal kingdom and the food chain in action. My love for animals and the many pets that have come in and out of my life have inspired many comical moments that are captured and reside in the Domestic World.
